AAUW-Walla Walla awards historic $83.5K in scholarships for local women

The American Association of University Women-Walla Walla Branch set a new record by awarding scholarships to 26 local women for the 2026–2027 academic year, according to a release from Val Hamann, who co-chairs the AAUW Scholarship Committee with Bobi Garrett.

Walla Walla’s Sergio Hernandez receives community leadership award

Sergio Hernandez, the ambassador for Walla Walla Public Schools’ Hispanic Community Leaders Focus Group, has been selected as the 2026 recipient of the Southeast Washington Association of School Administrators Community Leadership Award.

Applications for Walla Walla Public Schools Foundation scholarships are due Monday, March 9. The Foundation will award 10 $1,000 scholarships to Walla Walla grads this year, the most in the fund’s history, said Foundation Executive Director Elsa Watson.

Requirements expanded for American Association of University Women’s Women in Trades scholarships

Now any woman enrolled or planning to enroll in a trades program in the Walla Walla Valley, including at Walla Walla Community College and Walla Walla University, will be eligible for a Women in Trades Scholarship.
